What makes me a budget traveler?

Travel was never my full time job. I am not an influencer and I do not work from home. I received my college degree in Memphis, TN in theatre production in 2015. After graduating, I moved to California and had an internship that paid only $900 a month and then was unemployed for a year. I spent the next 3 years working minimum wage theatre jobs that satisfied my creative urges, but made my passion for traveling difficult! So I found a way to travel on a budget! All my tips and tricks to allow me to travel without going broke! Now, I am lucky enough to be working at Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, doing what I love. Now I just need time off!

A Little Bit About Me

To start at the beginning…..

Ever since I was young, I have been intrigued by the world and everything it has to offer. Growing up, I was encouraged to play outside, at first through denial of video games and cartoons. But I quickly fell in love with playing in the dirt, running through the woods, and playing in the rivers in Tennessee. When I watched tv, I was allowed to watch Animal Planet, aka: Crocodile Hunter, Emergency Vet, Meerkat Manor, and everything else that was oN in the 90’s and early 2000’s. As I got older, I became fascinated with movies and the world’s they take you to. I was lucky enough to come of age to movies like Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter, just to name some of my favorites!

The older I got, the more I wanted to travel the world and see all the things I had seen on the big screen. My family was great at taking us all around the country but the first, single, international was to Australia and New Zealand in 2013.

Since 2013, I have been to Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Ireland, England, Amsterdam, Australia (again), Iceland and Ireland (AGAIN!), Canada, Hawaii, The Virgin Islands, Bahamas, and Mexico. This is on top of the 30+ national parks I have been to and 37 states I have visited, I feel very well traveled!
